There are just enough things to do: you can collect resources, get your vault dwellers to make babies, shuffle some jobs around, defend against raider attacks, send dwellers out into the wasteland to get new gear, etc. Mobile games like this are all about how pleasing they are to have open in front of you: they need to create a sense of life without asking too much from the player. And I just can't seem to stop playing Fallout Shelter. It's a bit like a apocalyptic Tiny Tower. Right in the middle of the Fallout announcement, however, Todd Howard dropped something new that nobody saw coming: Fallout Shelter, a free-to-play game about managing a wasteland vault. Everything else was good to see, but expected: Dishonored 2, Fallout 4 (even with the 2015) release date, Doom and Elder Scrolls Online: all cool, but no true surprises. Bethesda's first ever E3 press conference came with one honest surprise.
